Today represents an important day for Australia.

Today Australians are all celebrating.

Sure the rest of us get the day off work.

But today, the AUSTRALIANS are celebrating.

Why?

Because years ago, boat fulls of convicted fellons

And soldiers armed to the teeth, 

Made their way to this already preoccupied land.

And, true to the nature of most white people hell bent on owning some land,

They murdered, robbed and degraded the once prospering occupants.

Don’t get me wrong I like Australia I really do.

It’s democratic enough that I’m allowed basic freedoms whilst 

Still boring enough that I can fantasize about dire situations.

But cynical as I am, I can’t help but cringe at all the people 

celebrating.

Celebrating death.

Celebrating murder.

Celebrating Thieves.

Celebrating segregation.

Celebrating false heroes.

Fake reconciliation.

Fake sentiment.

Or else the moralist might get angsty.
